Our favorite IKEA pieces
IKEA is one of those places that have an overwhelming amount of products and while they for the most part all have that ‘IKEA’ look where you know it’s built from plastic or corrugated cardboard, we are here to share some of our faves over the last couple years.
Tip: Keep in mind that you can DIY any of these pieces. Paint, change the legs, reupholster…etc etc!
GJÖRA – Bed Frame
We love everything about this bed – the simplicity, the color, and the price. It’s currently on sale too for $385 CAD, from May 1 – June 10, while supplies last!
STOCKHOLM 2017 – Cabinet
The Stockholm collection is one of our faves. With the natural rattan shell and the shelves inside, it makes for a practical cabinet that currently vibes with the 2020 interior design trends.
SKÅDIS – Pegboard
We’ve used this pegboard mostly in laundry rooms for additional storage, although you could use this in a craft space or kids room for toys and supplies. In the below photo, we put 4 of them together to create one large pegboard!
ODGER – Chair
Made of renewable wood and recycled plastic, the Odger chair gives a natural look to any space. It also comes in navy blue for an edgy look.
GAMLEHULT – Footstool with Storage
The Gamlehult footstool is made of a hand-woven material which makes each piece individual. Not only are they used for seating, they can be used for additional storage.
TORARED – Pendant Lamp Shade
We love using this pendant lamp in a reading nook or a master bedroom to elevate the design. It’s definitely a statement piece for any boho style space!
MOSSLANDA – Picture Ledge
Seriously, one of our faves!!! We love using shelves to add interest and accessories to. For the below photo, we merged two shelves together to create one large shelf flanking either side of the corner and to also mimic the sectional.
HENRIKSDAL – Chair & Cover
These chairs are great if you’re looking for something inexpensive. For $99 CAD, you can get the chair and cover of your liking. We usually opt for the white cover to give a beachy, casual feel to the dining space. The other great thing about these chairs is because the covers are so affordable, you don’t have to feel uneasy about having white chairs. Red wine stain? No worries – just replace the cover with a new one!
KOLDBY – Cowhide Rug
IKEA is known for having some great cowhide rugs! Each rug is unique and shows different marks and characteristics. We love using them in bonus rooms or layering with other rugs.
BESTÅ – Storage/Media Unit
The Besta collection is a great modular system with lots of different pieces to suit your given space. This media unit in particular gives a high-end look with the black slatted front and chrome legs which we switched out from the standard legs that comes with the unit. We even decided to switch things up and instead of using it as your typical media unit, we styled it as a bar area in a bonus room!
